The process for actor & actress headshots

After you’ve scheduled your acting headshot, you will receive a confirmation email of your booking. If you select to have a phone consultation before your appointment, we will contact you and address any questions that you have. This is a great way to ensure you’re prepared for your headshot photography session.
Unless specified, we typically photograph with a neutral grey background. Depending on how many actor’s headshot looks you are interested in having, we offer a variety of backdrop colors. A neutral background is the best way to make your facial features pop. But you can also opt for color backgrounds to liven up your photos.
During your headshot session, we will photograph unlimited number of outfits until you are satisfied with the headshot that represents the look you are interested to getting cast in.
The headshots you select will be purchased at the time of your headshot appointment. The photos that you do not select will be deleted after your session.

We always encourage our actors to bring in a variety of clothes to select from and to get you in character.
For your acting headshot, you want to at least portray two different looks.
The first acting look should be more natural in a plain t-shirt that can be layered with a blazer or your favorite leather jacket. It should have a more natural appeal.
The second acting look should focus on the type of role you are trying to get cast for. If you are going to the girl/boy next door, think about layering your outfit with a cardigan. If you are focused on getting cast for an evil villain, think about what dark looks you want to put together such as a leather jacket.

Depending on which state you live in, professional acting headshot pricing can range anywhere from $50 to $2500.
Often, the session fee mentioned above includes the photographer’s time and the actor’s headshot experience. The actual images from your session are purchased separately.
WASIO faces offer acting headshot session which includes wardrobe consultation and selection, professional posing and expression coaching, unlimited wardrobe changes, no time limit with multiple backdrops. All images are purchased in the studio on the day of your headshot.
We also offer “actors headshots subscription” service that is unique for people in the talent and art industry. This service allows you to renew your headshot once per month for $200. It includes one 60-minute headshot session per month, 2 outfits for each session, 4 fully retouched headshots with each session.
The actor’s headshots subscription service is a great opportunity to build up feeling comfortable in front of the camera along with growing your variety of headshots for different casting calls.

As you grow within your acting career and want to go into different roles, it’s important to update your acting headshot at least every few months.
Every time you change your physical appearance, plan to update your acting headshot to stay consistent.

Yes, actor’s headshots should be retouched. We do not recommend any heavy retouching. Acting headshots should have a natural feel to them. The retouching should be focused on removing skin imperfections and softening the skin lines.
It’s important that acting headshots represent what the actor looks like in real life.

We highly recommend adding hair and makeup to your headshot session. We work with a select group of hair and makeup artists that are familiar with the style we photograph and what will look best in front of the camera.

Actor’s headshots are ready and emailed within 5 business days. Each purchased headshot is custom retouched by hand.
Need your acting headshots within 24 hours? You can have your headshots within 24 hours with an add-on for ‘rush-delivery’ for $150.

After your headshots have been fully retouched, you will receive electronic Jpg files to be downloaded via email. We deliver the final headshot images in 4 different sizes: 900px for email signature, 1600px for platforms like LinkedIn, 2048px for social media usage and 3000px for printing.
